Choosing the right mould

Which type of mould should you choose?

Choose your mould according to the type of fishing weight and the mixture used. We offer moulds for standard concrete, reinforced concrete and IN-LINE fishing weights.

Mould for standard concrete

Designed for making fishing weights from commonly available bagged concrete.

2100 kg/m³ Recommended mixture density

Suitable for standard bagged concrete.
For our tests, we use B30 concrete with a maximum aggregate size of 4 mm.
The mould volume is calculated for a mixture with an approximate density of 2100 kg/m³.
The final weight may vary slightly depending on the concrete used, the amount of water and the degree of compaction.

Mould for reinforced concrete

Designed for a heavier concrete mixture combined with iron filings.

2700 kg/m³ Recommended mixture density

Designed for a mixture of concrete and iron filings.
Our tested mixture contains approximately 70% concrete and 30% iron filings.
The mould volume is calculated for a mixture with an approximate density of 2700 kg/m³.
For best results, follow the recommended concrete-to-iron-filings ratio specified for the product.

Mould for IN-LINE weights

Designed for making IN-LINE concrete fishing weights.

IN-LINE design Concrete approx. 2100 kg/m³

For making IN-LINE fishing weights.
A plastic tube runs through the centre of the finished weight.
The tube is inserted directly into the mould before pouring the concrete mixture.
Available in 60 g, 80 g, 100 g and 120 g versions.

Lubricate the Mold Before Every Use

Thoroughly coat the inside surfaces of the mold with a commercial release agent or ordinary cooking oil. Lubricating the mold makes it easier to remove the finished fishing weight and helps protect the mold.
