Our own design

Reusable moulds designed for easy casting

We developed our own moulds for making traditional and through-running IN-LINE concrete and reinforced-concrete fishing weights.

🧱

Made from PETG

Our moulds are 3D printed from durable PETG suitable for repeated casting.

♻️

Reusable

With proper handling and oiling before each use, the mould can be used repeatedly.

🪨

Standard concrete

Easy casting using commonly available bagged concrete.

⚙️

Reinforced concrete

We also offer moulds calculated for concrete mixtures containing iron filings.

🧱

Moulds for standard concrete

For weights made from commonly available concrete.

2100 kg/m³ Recommended mixture density
  • Suitable for standard bagged concrete.
  • Standard bagged concrete usually has a density of approximately 2000–2350 kg/m³.
  • Suitable for hobby concrete, rapid-setting concrete and high-strength concrete.
  • The mould volume is calculated for the stated finished weight.
⚙️

Moulds for reinforced concrete

For heavier fishing weights made with iron filings.

2700 kg/m³ Recommended reinforced-concrete mixture density
  • Designed for concrete mixed with iron filings.
  • Before adding iron filings, standard bagged concrete usually has a density of approximately 2000–2350 kg/m³.
  • Our testing used a mixture containing approximately 70% concrete and 30% iron filings.
  • The mould volume is calculated for a reinforced-concrete mixture with a density of approximately 2700 kg/m³.

Concrete used in our testing

When testing our moulds, we used B30 bagged concrete with a maximum aggregate size of 4 mm.

Our reinforced-concrete mould testing used a mixture containing approximately 70% B30 bagged concrete and 30% iron filings. This mixture reached a density of approximately 2700 kg/m³.

Frequently asked questions

Important information about our concrete fishing weight moulds.

Can the mould be reused?

Yes. The PETG mould is reusable if handled carefully, cleaned after use and oiled before each casting.

What concrete should I use?

Standard bagged concrete can be used. Our standard-concrete moulds are calculated for a mixture density of approximately 2100 kg/m³. In our tests, we used B30 concrete with a maximum aggregate size of 4 mm.

Do you also offer moulds for reinforced concrete?

Yes. We also offer moulds specially calculated for reinforced-concrete mixtures with a density of approximately 2700 kg/m³. In our testing, we used approximately 70% concrete and 30% iron filings.

Do you also offer IN-LINE moulds?

Yes. We also offer moulds for making through-running IN-LINE concrete fishing weights. During casting, a plastic tube is inserted into the mould; after the concrete cures, it forms a channel through the centre of the finished weight. Browse IN-LINE moulds.

Will the finished weight match the stated weight?

When using a mixture with the recommended density and filling the mould correctly, the finished weight should be close to the stated value. The actual weight may vary slightly depending on the mixture, water content and compaction.

Do I need to oil the mould?

Yes. The mould must be oiled before every use. This is essential for easy removal of the finished concrete weight.

Is concrete included?

No. The package contains only the ordered PETG mould. Concrete, iron filings and other casting materials are not included unless stated otherwise for a specific product.

Can you make a custom mould?

Yes. We can design and make moulds according to individual requirements. For more information, contact us at info@3dstar.cz .
